2002 starts out with a whimper. Game time temputure of 41 did not help our performance either. It didn't seem to bother other team though (especially the two guys wearing shorts.) We actually hit better that in previous season openers.

Question: How many more losses do we need to start the season before I get the ax like Phil Garner?

We set a Grewe Crewe record with three K's in the game......on offense. Not good. But on a positive note, we have beers lined up after the game for the foreseeable future!

Player of the game honors must go to our new rookie, Kerry Sarver. Not only did he sting the ball everytime, but he even got a little dirty playing 1st. That is what I'm looking for when I give our scouting department (the neices) an assignment. Now the only question I have is why it took Kerry 5 years to start playing with us. He and Tayna are working on their third kid, maybe he was...shall we say.....predisposed!

Line of the day goes out to Ron with his "I'm too sore from stretching to play" line before the game. Also, I want to give myself some props for my clutch lead off homer when the score was 22-8. How 'bout that for a prime time player!
