Historical Buildings in Bailey Historical Park owned and maintained by the society:


From left to right:
One-room Schoolhouse, built in 1885 - originally located on School Section Road in Richmond Township.
Moved to its present location in 1994.
Grand Trunk Railroad Depot, built in the early 1900s - originally located in Hickey, Columbus Township.
Moved to its present location in 1992.
The Donley Family Log Cabin and Outhouse, built in 1850 - originally located on 29 Mile Road in Lenox Township.
Moved to its present location in 1996.


Our Mission

Membership Information
All interested individuals, businesses, and institutions are invited to join the society.
We offer the following types of membership:
Individuals - $10.00 / year
Family - $15.00 / year
Lifetime membership - one time payment of $100.
Dues are payable for the calendar year (January 1 through December 31).

Monthly Membership Meetings
Members meet on the first Thursday of every month, except in June, July, August and December.
These meetings are generally held in the Historic One-Room School House on Parker Street in Bailey Park in Richmond.
The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public - you need not be a member to attend.

Annual Fundraising Events:

- Log Cabin Days on the last Sunday in June. This event is becoming very popular with the young and old.
  Watch local artisans as they carry out their craft.

- Strawberry Shortcake Festival during Richmond's Good Old Days (first week after Labor Day).
  The historical buildings will be open during the three-day event. There is no entry fee, however, donations are much appreciated.

Newsletter:
The Historian
is mailed out monthly to our members to keep them informed of any upcoming events.

  • Cemetery records of  Lenox Burial Ground on Kuster Road in Lenox Twp, includes all tombstone inscriptions. $ 12.00 (S&H included).
  • Records of the First German Evangelical Church in Adair [Casco] from 1902-1924; Included are Births/Confirmations/Marriages and Deaths.
    Spiral-bound with every-name index. $25.00 (S&H included).
  • 1916 Plat Maps of every Township in Macomb County, including City of Richmond, Armada and Memphis. $15.00 each.
  • 1916 Plat Maps of every Township in St. Clair County,  please specify. $15.00 each.
  • Memorial Bricks for the Pocket Park. Small bricks are $30.00; large ones are $100. If you're looking for a special gift that keeps on giving, a personalized brick makes an ideal gift. Contact Ursula Adamson at ubatrans@klondyke.net for an application form.
  • Richmond Review Newspapers on CD - $10.00 / CD plus $5.00 for S&H. 
    All proceeds are applied toward the digitization of the remaining Review Newspapers.

*In 1951, the Review Newspaper celebrated its Diamond Jubilee (75th Anniversary). On this occasion, the Review asked its readers to submit the history of their family or business for publication in this special 38 page edition. This 1951 edition has been much sought after by  family historians and it is now available on CD for everyone to enjoy.


Please note:
not all of the CDs listed above contain every weekly publication. Each CD (except where noted) contains 6 months of the year i.e. Jan-Jun and July-Dec; this allows persons to buy only half of a particular year.
